Hello and thank you for being here!
Photography started out for me just as a hobby. I loved capturing our family moments, my son’s blue-eyed face, and his look of innocence. I enjoyed capturing the look in my husband’s eyes as he admired my passion. Every moment frozen in time was a moment I could treasure forever. I got to watch my bonus daughters grow up, both in person and through the viewfinder, always capturing their truest, rawest selves. These times I will never take for granted. I will always have these moments to relive—a moment in time that was frozen. A moment that takes you back to that place and time. I can still hear the laughter from the silly poses or the swoosh of hair when a picture wasn’t warranted. I can feel the breeze or the sun beaming down. I can relive that moment again and again, no matter how old they get or if they even remember.
Word got around the family that I took pictures, and it started to escalate into a small part-time gig. As a newbie and an avid self-learner, I dove into photography magazines, YouTube videos, and networking to build my skills. I started out not charging these new clients of mine simply because I was new to the field. I would often receive tips and compliments on my work and personality.
I started to grow as time went on and did some advertising through Craigslist, word of mouth, and eventually through Facebook. Before I knew it, I was doing engagement photos, wedding photos, newborn photos, family pictures, headshots, and vehicle photos. I actually became overwhelmed and didn’t know how to say no while working another full-time job. With that being said, I took a long break from photography to focus on my family and continue my education in Business Administration. Even though I was on this break away from my camera, I still got asked to do pictures.
Long story short, I decided to give it a go again. There is no denying the joy that it brings me, capturing everyone’s special moments that they will one day look back on and be grateful for. They will have that moment in time that has since been long gone, but viewing that photo will make it seem as if it was just the other day.
I still currently have a full-time job that takes up the majority of my time. I still have a family that I will devote my time to as long as they will let me. I will now incorporate time to capture those moments that people wish to preserve. Again, we are not promised tomorrow, and that photo might mean the world to someone someday.
Thank you for taking the time to be here and read my blog. Please reach out if I can be a part of your special moments.
